At the Region III Conference in October, chapters in Section 85 were the only chapters to receive Chapter of Excellence and Pledge Program of Excellence Awards.

Welcome back to school and to what promises to be a great semester for your chapters! On behalf of the Section 85 staff, I’m sending you important information to kick off your semester. Please take the time to read through everything – there’s a lot to cover!First, you should all be planning your CAPS meetings for early in the semester. This meeting is crucial to setting up the semester and for getting all Brothers informed on the events you’re planning for the semester. Once you have completed your CAPS meeting, you need to fill out a report on the national website. This is a weekend experience giving participants the opportunity to learn skills needed to develop chapter management skills. The course will focus on small group process where participants develop an actual project plan that can be used by chapters and APO.
COURSE OVERVIEW:
· Meeting Management — Learning about different types of meetings and how to best run them as well as making meetings more manageable and effective.
· Project Management — Focus on the SPEED model to develop and execute successful projects. Developing Time Management through Project Management.
· Delegation — Learning the art of having others help with a task you are responsible for and using delegation strategies to utilize the whole Chapter.
· Marketing — Developing and managing a positive Chapter image and learning how to let he world know what you are doing.
COURSE AND REGISTRATION DETAILS
The course starts at 7 p.m. Friday and runs through noon Sunday. Unlike a sectional or regional conference, attendees are expected to participate the entire time of the event.
COST: $55 for Student Members and $75 for Alumni. A $5 discount is provided to Life Members. The cost includes lodging for both Friday and Saturday night, 3 meals on Saturday and breakfast on Sunday. (Please note that the National Fraternity subsidizes the costs of the SERVE courses costs).
